An Army officer in Arish allegedly raped a British peace activist in May. Military prosecution detained her when she filed a complaint. Nothing happened to the officer.

In this Guardian article the UK foreign office is apologetic on failing to help her during filing the complaint.

This isn't the first time the Egyptian army was accused of commiting sexual abuses and failed to investigate. In March 9, seven female Egyptian activsts were sexually assaulted under the guise of "virginity tests."
