Legislature

Drupal Modules - Wed, 29/08/2007 - 3:50am
  • A generalized database for storing legislative data, such as bills, politicians, and votes.
  • Import scripts to fill this database.
  • Does not especially provide an API or UI at this time; all you get is a database.

Currently supports only the U.S. Congress, primary data source is http://govtrack.us/. Iowa, Ohio, and California legislatures are being worked on. Post an issue if you are interested in developing others.

Buddylist UI

Drupal Modules - Tue, 28/08/2007 - 9:16am

User Interface for Buddy API module. Uses views + usernode to build all lists (buddylist, sent requests, received requests) and workflow_ng for notification/logging

Bind

Drupal Modules - Sun, 26/08/2007 - 11:30pm

Bind is an administration module for managing DNS zones for BIND via Drupal. Supports per-user administration of zones and error checking. Demo and screenshots available.

Movies and Movies Wishlist

Drupal Modules - Sun, 26/08/2007 - 9:11pm

The movies module allows the administrator to create, edit, update and delete movies in a database (including the IMDB link if desired), at admin/movies. They also have the ability to add movies (in the same fashion) to a movie wishlist, checking off movies from that last as they are purchased, automatically adding that movie to their main movie list, at admin/movies/wishlist. There is also a page which will find any conflict between the two lists.

SLFeed

Drupal Modules - Sun, 26/08/2007 - 9:25am

SL Feed is a simple module which creates a feed for a Second Life scripted object to display within Second Life. A free example of such an object is available here with full permissions (requires a Second Life avatar and registration at SLExchange.com).

File Cache

Drupal Modules - Sun, 26/08/2007 - 3:29am

This is a replacement cache for Drupal which instead of placing the cachable objects into the database which is done by default it writes the objects into the filesystem instead.

In cases where the website is a dedicated server or a VPS where you have control over the core system, then this is not for you. Check out the memcache project http://drupal.org/project/memcache

If you are on a shared host where you have slow database servers then this is for you.

Currency CCK

Drupal Modules - Sat, 25/08/2007 - 6:26pm

The module provides a drop down CCK field which has all currencies provided by Currency module.
Project created by OpenCraft.

File Cache

Drupal Modules - Sat, 25/08/2007 - 3:48pm

A cache replacement system which instead of writing to the database like the default the cached files are written to the web server.

In the case of Hosting companies where the database is slow but the web servers are fast this is an ideal way to get some additional performance from you site.

Democracy forum

Drupal Modules - Sat, 25/08/2007 - 2:13pm

An e-democracy module.

Webmail

Drupal Modules - Fri, 24/08/2007 - 8:53pm

This module is in beta, and not complete.

This module provides a webmail interface using the Mail API module. It also contains a module called 'webmail_ajax', which will use jQuery to create a more dynamic interface, with fewer or no page loads.

IMAP API

Drupal Modules - Fri, 24/08/2007 - 7:48pm

The purpose of this module is to provide the Mail API module (http://drupal.org/project/mail_api) access to IMAP servers. It uses hooks from the Mail API module. This is currently in beta, and is not fully implemented.

Mail API

Drupal Modules - Fri, 24/08/2007 - 4:40pm

This module is currently in beta form and lacks some functionality.

For site-admins:
This module depends on the AES and SMTP modules. You must also install a protocol module designed to work with this module, to allow it to communicate with mail servers. Once a protocol module is installed, you are able to create server configurations for any server that's supported by the protocol modules you have installed. You will also need a module that provides the webmail interface that uses the provided api.

Drupal API + Extensions

Drupal Modules - Fri, 24/08/2007 - 4:31pm

Adds additional hooks to drupal. Provides additional functionality.

We initially created this module as a part of the Resource Manager module (in development) but it seemed more sensible to split it into a separate module that we can use to add additional functionality to drupal.

First release contains:

* Drupal icons & Application Panel.

We created two new hooks to set and display icons in an application-style. This allows developers to give their web-based applications a simpler user interface and a sleeker appearance.

MediaWiki

Drupal Modules - Thu, 23/08/2007 - 11:07pm

Integrate Drupal with an existing MediaWiki installation.

This module currently provides three features:

Location Hierarchy

Drupal Modules - Thu, 23/08/2007 - 8:34pm

Hierarchy allows administrators to create a dynamically created taxonomy hierarchy for locations. It links the terms into a structure that looks like this:
Country
--State
----City -> node
Administrators are allowed to run this for any content type. An example would be using it for the user node type. What this does is if a user has a location, anytime they update their city, state, country, the hierarchy module will create/delete/update hierarchical taxonomy term based on that data. It will then link the city to the node being edited.

Hierarchy

Drupal Modules - Thu, 23/08/2007 - 7:19pm

This module provides an efficient and flexible way of storing content in a hierarchy. You can use this hierarchy for site menus, scoped searches, and node references.

JSFX

Drupal Modules - Thu, 23/08/2007 - 7:04am

JSFX is a suite of effects for Drupal. Everything is contained in one module, but the effects can be turned on and off separately.
Currently, the suite includes:
- Memoryblock: Similar to Collapsiblock in JS Tools, but with completely different code.
Activating this effect will make all your blocks collapsible. Using cookies, it will remember the state each block was left in.
- Commenthide: This effect will hide the body of all your comments, and leave the title, submission info, and the avatar, if any.

indymedia cities list

Drupal Modules - Thu, 23/08/2007 - 5:32am

Module originally developed by ekes.

The Indymedia cities list module generates an up-to-date list of indymedia sites. For PHP 4-based sites, the list is updated from an HTML version. For PHP 5-based sites, the list is updated from an XML version, and the listing is fully themeable/customizable.

Month-Group

Drupal Modules - Wed, 22/08/2007 - 4:56pm

This module defines a Views style plugin, so that if you have a view sorted first by a date field, you can show them grouped by month.

Date View Feedback

Drupal Modules - Wed, 22/08/2007 - 3:46pm

This module shows how the view interpreted the dates you typed into the exposed
filters. If your input was not understood, you will get a validation error.
If you typed in a date in non-canonical format, it will be shown to you in
canonical format when you see the search results.

relatedviews

Drupal Modules - Wed, 22/08/2007 - 3:33pm

This module makes a filter available to any view:
Taxonomy: Term from current node

You can use this module in this type of situation: You can define a block which contains a view. The view uses the filter "Taxonomy: Term from current node", and therefore the view will contain nodes that share taxonomy terms with the current node being displayed. You could label that block "Related content".

Namefield

Drupal Modules - Wed, 22/08/2007 - 3:11pm

This module gives you separate fields to describe names: prefix, first, middle, last, suffix. It gives you 'legal' and 'preferred' versions of these fields, and options of how to calculate a display name from the data. Sorts and filters are done by display name.

This module is experimental -- it does not yet support multiple values. It will be considered experimental until it does support multiple values.

Search Block

Drupal Modules - Wed, 22/08/2007 - 2:14pm

Search Block is a module which lets administrators exclude individual nodes or entire content types from the search system. This is especially useful for pages used with Login Destination, or CCK nodes primarily meant to be presented only with views and not as individual nodes.

This module is still in early development, but should be stable for most uses. Once the module has recieved wider use, I'll release a stable version.

One-time login links

Drupal Modules - Wed, 22/08/2007 - 5:43am

A small utility module which generates a CSV of one-time login links for each user.

Host

Drupal Modules - Wed, 22/08/2007 - 2:37am

The concept of Host module is to provide some features similar to cPanel or Plesk control panels for use with your multi-site Drupal hosting. In addition, virtusertable, automated creation of new sites, backups and management system services. This is a huge task and requires some forethought, please send ideas -- If you think this might be a viable project, please offer support in whatever way you can.
