Views Argument API

Drupal Modules - Mon, 11/06/2007 - 9:14pm

This API allows for easy and automatic creation of UIs to handle passing arguments to views. It creates a mechanism other than the URI for modules to specify arguments in block and embedded views. Now, there is a standardized interface for allowing users to pre-select arguments to pass to embedded views. In admin/build/views, you can select how you want arguments to be passed to an embedded view.

Views PHP Filter

Drupal Modules - Sun, 10/06/2007 - 10:34pm

Based on Views issue #115947. The module adds a filter to your Views which can dynamically select a set of nodes to include or exclude from your filter chain by way of PHP snippets. Now your views can be customized in whatever way you want, without being limited to the existing filters and without having to write a new filter for functionality you may only have to use once.

It runs on the Drupal Association web site.

IMG File filter

Drupal Modules - Fri, 08/06/2007 - 6:39am

This is a modification of the inline module

Differences:

  1. There is a 'Thumbnail size' setting. Nodes will use this as maximum size for filtered images.
  2. Works with thickbox. (Even if the setting page says that it doesn't work with craqbox yet).
  3. Works also with [img:xx] tags.

XSPF Playlist

Drupal Modules - Thu, 07/06/2007 - 5:00pm

xspf_playlist module generates a XSPF playlist from files that are attached to a node. It was designed for Jeroen Wijering's flash player, though it should work with other flash players. The admin interface allows the administrator to select what node types it works on, choose a default thumbnail file to use, and forthcoming support for CCK fields. It also supports multiple file types (audio, video, flash) that are supported by the flash player.

CCK Slideshow

Drupal Modules - Thu, 07/06/2007 - 1:54am

CCK Slideshow is a simple module which takes several existing pieces of Drupal modules and makes a slideshow from any existing imagefield defined in CCK.

Dependencies:
- CCK
- Imagefield
- Imagecache

The heart of CCK Slideshow is a content formatter. Formatters provide various ways of displaying field information in CCK. These formatters are used in two places in particular: the CCK display settings and in a view (provided by the views.module).

Similar By Terms

Drupal Modules - Wed, 06/06/2007 - 9:52pm

This Drupal module attempts to provide context for content items by displaying a block with links to other similar content. Similarity is based on the taxonomy terms assigned to content. Blocks are available based on similarity within each of the defined vocabularies for a site as well as a block for similarity within all vocabularies.

What does this really mean? How should you use this module?

Sliced Book Navigation

Drupal Modules - Wed, 06/06/2007 - 8:03am

The Sliced Book Navigation allows to explode the book navigation by depth, and to place each level as a block. It have the same behavior than the Sliced Menu module.

To explode a book navigation, simply goes to site configuration then sliced book navigation and chose a book to slice. In the admin block section of drupal, blocks have been added named book_level_x.

The Sliced Menu allows menus to be sliced into a block per level. It behave like primary link with no level limitation.

If a menu with four levels (depth) is sliced, four blocks will be available in the administer block section. Each block will contain a level of the chosen menu. If a menu item is selected, the next level is visible. If item doesn't have sub items, the block won't be displayed.

HTML Mail

Drupal Modules - Tue, 05/06/2007 - 2:45am

HTML Mail empowers Drupal with the ability to send emails in HTML. I know that this is widely frowned upon but we should not be inflexible to it.

OG User Roles

Drupal Modules - Tue, 05/06/2007 - 1:09am

This module allows you to assign group-specific roles to users which are restricted to the groups they are in. In other words, using this module, you can assign the role "contributor" to a user in a group, and the user will only have the permissions of that role while he is in that particular group.

Requires og.module and og_forums.module.

Read the history of this module: http://drupal.org/node/87679

Other features of this module allow you to:

Panels Taxonomy

A flexible taxonomy navigation and display solution using panels.

Geonames

Drupal Modules - Sun, 03/06/2007 - 5:50pm

Adds the ability to convert an address to latitude and longitude using the Geonames API. This is a non-graphical interface. Users simply type the address, click the look up button, and if the address exists in Geonames database the latitude and longitude are returned. Both the address and the latitude and longitude are saved in an additional geonames table. Still working on how this data will be displayed using Google or Yahoo maps.

FormCorral

Drupal Modules - Sun, 03/06/2007 - 2:07am

FormCorral provides a simple and effective way to capture form data that can be emailed, downloaded as a CSV, and/or viewed in Drupal's admin interface.

Ideal uses:

  • Capture data for a custom contact form
  • Define custom validation rules
  • Simplify creation of new forms

The goal was to provide an interface that defines a list of fields to capture, what to show if an error occurred (such as a required field), and a set of validation rules, since nothing else seems to provide them in a sane fashion.

Here's the thread that started it all: http://drupal.org/node/83027
